Dr Maguire is conducting active research into the requirements for validation and verification of DNA expert system software in an ISO 17025 environment.  The research questions centre on the responsibilities of the commercial vendor, or provider of ‘freeware’ applications, and expectations of the accrediting bodies of the end user.  How does the software model the environment?  How does the software provider demonstrate that the algorithms contained within the software accurately reflect the chosen model?
